Then, you can walk down to the bridge which links up the headland with the island. This is the feature, tombolo. The sediments on the SE coast are mainly bulky boulders while on the NW coast, we can find smaller pebbles and rock fragments. Due to longshore drift on both sides of the coast, deposition occurs and a tombolo is formed.
The picture below was taken on the tombolo.
Along the way uphill, you can see a boulder with a large crack. The rock is disintegrated physically by the process of block disintegration. The crack is so wide that one person is allowed to stand inside.
Looking forward, you can also discovere another example of block disintegration. It resembles a loaf of bread.
